Q. What is the difference between recyclable and biodegradable?

Recyclable means the product can be used over again, typically in the context of a municipal, commercial or industtial program that collects used materials and converts it into a new product.

  • Insite® BIODEGRADABLE is not recyclable, but is biodegradable.
  • Duraplast® BIODEGRADABLE is 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable.

Recycled Content means that some or all of the product has been manufactured using recycled materials. The polystyrene foam in Gilman's BIODEGRADABLE foamboards has been formulated using at least 15% recycled content.

Biodegradable refers to a material that breaks down relatively quickly under natural conditions or in a commercial landfill.
